1. Service for the Underserved
SUS offers a full spectrum of housing, employment and treatment programs for veterans facing unemployment, homelessness, mental illness, substance abuse disorders, and HIV/AIDS. These high-impact programs directly address the integration needs of returning service members as they readjust to civilian life and recover from the invisible and physical wounds of war. 2. Samaritan Village
Samaritan Village also provides Supportive Services for Veteran Families (SSVF) with community-based housing assistance and support services for at-risk veterans and their families.
3. Jericho Project
Jericho's Veteran Supportive Apartment Program provides critical housing identification and placement throughout New York City as well as teh full range of Jericho's case management and employment services to 80 homeless veterans and their families.
4. VA Home Loans
VA mortgage allow service members and veterans to take advantage of substantial cost savings under qualification requirements designed specifically for members of the military and their unique needs.
5. MOVA & NYC Affordable Housing
The MOVA and NYC Office of Affordable Housing provides information online related to affordable housing. You'll find information and resources about current City-sponsored affordable housing lotteries, public and emergency housing, repairs, tenants' rights, and Mayoral housing announcements. It is a resource for tenants, prospetive homebuyers, homeowners, and residential building owners.
6. New York State Mortgage Agency
Homes for Veterans Program, through State of New York Mortgage Agency (SONYMA), offers fixed-rate mortgages and enables more U.S. military veterans and active duty U.S. military personnel to buy their first home (or move to a different home if you are a U.S. military veteran). A change in Federal law enables SONYMA to waive the first-time homebuyer requirement for any veteran (and their spouse or co-borrower) who:
Served in active military, naval, or air service; and has been discharged or released from their military duties under conditions other than dishonorable.
7. USAA
Assists Veterans and their family members with insurance, banking, investments and retirement.
8. Veterans Rebuilding Life
Provide civilian reintegration services for severely disabled American soldiers.
